Hello everyone!! I've decided to start a blog for Jackson so that everyone can check in here for updates and pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with it as much as I plan on.
As of right now, Jackson is still loving the comfort of the womb. Mike and I went to the school that's in our neighborhood last night and went on the swings for a while. I had heard (among thousands of other tips) that swinging could help start contractions. It doesn't, at least not for me. But it was fun.
We're trying our hardest to have him before the induction appointment that's on Monday morning (August 18th) at 7:30am. That day also happens to be Mike's little sisters 9th birthday and the day that she's having her birthday party in Anaconda. Mike's Dad also has to be in Billing's that entire week for work. So Monday's just not a good day for us!! We've been walking and we went on a bumpy car ride last weekend. Nothing's working though. I guess he'll just come when he's good and ready. Or when the drugs that they use for inducing labor make him ready :)
Monday was my last day at work. I went to my Doctors appointment and the midwife that works out of Dr. McCoy's office (Dr. McCoy was on vacation) said no more working for me. She wrote me a note and I skipped into ELM, handed my note to Human Resources and then skipped right on out of there. I was definitely happy to be done. And the swelling in my feet, ankles and legs has improved so much since I haven't been sitting in a desk all day. My feet are still swollen but it doesn't get anywhere near as bad as it was before. I can actually still walk around at the end of the day without wanting to chop my legs off below the knees.
Mike is finishing up his full time job at the Missoula Country Club. He's probably still going to work there on a very part time basis during school but he's done with full days today. He's been working on the yard at the house as well. He's chopped down about five trees that we had in the backyard and he and my Dad are going to start on a retaining wall for out in front of the house this weekend. We've decided to get the front yard done this year and then tackle more of the backyard next year. It's going to be a pretty big job so we didn't want to start on it quite yet.
The dogs have been getting along great. Butler is having some issues adjusting to not being the center of attention but it's been good practice for when the baby gets here. Rocko has managed to teach Butler how to play tug of war with their rope and Butler has been sharing his bone with Rocko. They both share a love of squirrel hunting so on the rare ocassion that a squirrel shows itself in the backyard they both enjoy harassing it and trying to catch it.
That's all for now. Keep checking back for pictures and of course for the update from Jackson's big day, whenever that happens to be. Thanks for reading!!
