Teeth... they make unhappy babies

The poor little man has gotten his first tooth. At first I was extremely excited about this. It's a big milestone in a babies life. And then the other bottom front tooth started coming in at the same time. This means that there is a large amount of screaming and unhappiness on Jackson's part and a feeling of helplessness on my part. Orajel does not work. And the teething ring that I thought was going to save us all is now being chucked across the room after two minutes of viscious gnawing. I thought that I had found the answer in teething tablets that a nice lady at Target told me about. I told Mike about them and he researched them and found that they contain belladonna which apparently contains poison. Better not use those!

Hopefully we can just do one tooth at a time from now on! I have however managed to document the few happy times that we have had during the past week. Here they are... enjoy!

It's been waaayy too long since I've updated this. I'm going to blame it on the busy holidays. They really were quite busy! We were in Anaconda with Mike's family for Thanksgiving as well as for Christmas Eve. On Chirstmas Day we got up bright and early and drove to Kalispell to spend time with my side of the family. Then a couple of days later we went to Deer Lodge for a Briggeman get together. All in all, I have to say that Jackson's first Christmas went well and I'm glad that we got to see so many people.

Right now we are in Kalispell for three weeks while Mike is doing one of his internships at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Today is his first day so no word yet on how he likes it! School starts for both of us on the 26th and I actually have to attend classes this semester which means Jackson has to go to daycare. We're not looking forward to that change but we have found a daycare that we really like so we're comfortable leaving him while we are at school.

Jackson had a doctors appointment last week and he now weighs 18lbs 3oz and is 26 inches long!! He's a giant :)

I hope everyone had a great holiday season!!

Just being his cute little self

Well, Jackson now weighs 14 lbs. 9 oz. (this was as of about two weeks ago so he's probably hovering around 15 lbs. by now). He's 24 1/2 inches long. He's smiling and laughing more and more and he's got a good grasp on objects when we put them in his hand. He's still not liking being on his tummy for more that 30 seconds. I'm beginning to wonder if he's just going to scoot around on his butt like my Dad did instead of crawling :) If we lay him down and he doesn't feel like being down he tries to sit up on his own... not succesfully of course but he sure tries his hardest. He's responding to our voices when we walk into a room too! He especially likes his Daddy's voice and usually gets a big grin on his face when he see's him. Mike gets a big grin on his face too :) Dr. Harper says that he's growing perfectly and is a very healthy little boy!

Anyways, here is one picture of Jackson's first halloween (this is in his lion costume - pictures in his dalmation costume are coming as soon as I find that memory card) and his first professional pictures!!

Sorry it's been so long!!

Jackson now weighs (as of October 15th) 13lbs 5oz and is 23.5 inches long! They said that he's right on track. He's getting so big but he's so much fun! He's starting to really laugh and seems to smile at us whenever we smile at him.

We went to Spokane a couple of weekends ago for a friends wedding. He was great :) He slept through the whole ceremony and a good part of the reception. Auntie Malarie came and picked him up from the reception after a while and he had a ton of fun with her while Mike and I stayed and danced the night away.

Both sets of Grandparents and lots of other family were in town last weekend so he had lots of love and attention.

He's all ready for halloween. He has a cute shirt from his Great Aunt Linda to wear during the day and he has two costumes for answering the door for trick-or-treaters. The first is a dalmation costume that his Great Aunt Mary sent from Texas. The second is a lion costume that his Great Aunt Linda is letting us borrow!! The only bummer about halloween is he's getting his first round of shots at the doctor that day :( But Casey and Rob (friends from Spokane) are coming to town that weekend so I'm sure that will cheer him up!

I hope everyone is doing great! Enjoy the pictures!

Hello everyone! Jackson is doing wonderful this week. His new favorite thing is standing up (see picture below). It says in one of our books that he's not supposed to be able to do that until he's three months so he's a bit ahead of the game! He just started cooing a couple of days ago too! We went on a hike behind our house the other night and today we spent the afternoon hiking at Holland Lake. We bought a backpack for Jackson to be in for long hikes and tried it out this afternoon. It works great! Hope everyone is doing well!
